SEMI ONE : The intro
Black and white pictures of a choir mouthing the Te Deum, then the confluence theme comes to life with a children’s choir on stage before pyros give way to an Balkan brass band playing a Eurovision medley or “Congratulations” and Waterloo”. The screen has a very colourful floral motif and then dancers in blue and red do a folk dance to “Volare”. The presenters are in black with Zeljko in a nice suite and Jelena in a black dress with a cutaway front.

The postcards involve people doing silly things to paint the flags. They are very clever on the first two..

MONTENEGRO : has a more orchestral sound than I rremember. It's a solid well performed opener and dancers are great, but not a qualifier.

ISRAEL has Boaz in a white vest and grey pants. He sings well and the long shots show the stage off very well. Backing performers in grey/black but they are still doing the bouncy dance. The ending is very strong and the audience lovs it.

ESTONIA has a football team for their flag after painters for Israel and a man on stilts for Montenegro. Estonia's first singer is sounding hoarse, the routine is as before and the going into the final transition loses impact if anything. Another non-qualifier.

MOLDOVA is introduced by three colourful pieces of cloth. The song is as before with just a tumpeter and singer and a cuddly toy (there's a line I never thought I'd use). It's totally lacking impact. Another no hoper.

SAN MARINO has child gymnists and the dancer is in a white folowing dress while the band are in black. Nicola is flat on the end of some lines, but otherwise it's good, just perhaps not good enough to make the cut.

BELGIUM is opened by dancer ethching their national colours on a screen. The performance is as demented as before. With that costume and those facial expressions it will be rremembered, but perhaps not for the right reasons.

Then it's a feamale tennis player introducing Serbia as the alternative to an ad break. The hosts are back with a change of clothes to introduce Azerbaijan...

AZERBAIJAN has got rid of it's big problem of too many camera angle changes by going for scans across the screen. For the first time both singers are in good voice especially for the cresendo. This is a candidate for the final.

SLOVENIA started with three girls chatting to paint its flag and the performance is ruined by a mess of reverb effects and Rebeka's vocals are flat especially on the last note. Given that it's already a visual mes, it's now out of contention.

NORWAY has girls playing keepie-uppie the stage and performers are in blue and the performance is solid and strong if not exactly spectacular. Given what's gone before, this will qualify.

Дивайн - круто!!! В принципе, наиболее хитовая песня этого конкурса. Да и исполнитель широко известен. Если бы не френдливоутинг...

POLAND has ladies in red and white as their flag and they are a damn sight more stylist than Isis who start is a horrible white cloak before whipping it off to reveal a full length light blue dress with a very realing front offset by pearls. The sound went half way through this so I cannot comment on the performance.
